Fun for Now

This deceptively simple looking online game is maddeningly addictive. Set up weapon towers and prepare for the next onslaught of odd creatures. If none of them survive your defenses you will gain some cash which you can spend on upgrading your towers, buying more or researching tougher towers.

When you conquer the game, David Scott has a follow up as well here, but I still prefer the original.
